STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Questions worth asking before you move your records in.

The short answer comes first. The reason it matters to your next decision comes right after it.

GETTING STARTED

Can I switch from spreadsheets or older rabbitry software?

Yes: that is exactly what BarnMark is being built for. When beta opens, you will start with the records you already keep, then bring daily work into one place. Once pedigrees, breedings, litters, weights, and show results share the same record, they feed Pose evaluations, Barn Tracks, and BarnSight instead of sitting in separate files. The payoff is a history you can use at the next pairing, with the call staying yours.

Can I import paper pedigrees?

The import preview is coming at launch. It will read your paper records and show exactly what BarnMark sees before anything is saved. That history can then work inside pedigrees, line checks, and BarnSight findings, so you keep the years behind your herd without trusting a blind transfer.

Will it work in the barn, offline?

Not fully offline yet. BarnMark is being built mobile-first for barn-side entry: dark, legible at arm's length, one-handed, and designed for the spotty signal common around barns. The initial release focuses on fast entry when a connection is available, with fuller offline support on the roadmap. Catching records at the cage matters because BarnSight can only count the records that actually got kept.

I run three breeds. Does that confuse it?

No, and this is a hard rule: BarnSight never crosses breeds. A Holland Lop crown problem has nothing to teach your Mini Rex fur. Run three breeds and you get three separate reads, each built only from that breed's own records.

WHAT IT DOES

Do you track Grand Champion progress?

Yes. Shows will be handled start to finish: entries, results, legs, and Grand Champion progress, kept current without spreadsheet math. Then the results go to work. BarnMark will set the judge's verdicts and comments beside your own Pose scores on the same animals, so you can see where your eye and the table agree, and where they don't. That gap is where barn blindness hides, and closing it is worth more than any results log.

Does Pose score against the ARBA Standard of Perfection?

A Pose scores against your interpretation of ideal: the rabbit you are breeding toward, whether that is the Standard for your breed or a production goal the Standard does not measure. The judge tells you how you did against the standard. Your Poses record how the herd is moving against yours. BarnSight reads both, side by side.

Do you offer moon-phase breeding tracking?

Not as a dedicated feature, and you don't need one. Lay a moon Barn Track on your breedings: Barn Tracks are tags you drop on any event, and once you lay one, BarnMark offers it back at similar moments so the habit keeps itself. From there BarnSight follows the Track and reports what your own barn says: conception and litter outcomes by phase, counted from your records. If the pattern holds, you'll see it. If it doesn't, you'll see that too.

Does it do pedigrees?

Of course: pedigrees are core to the build. Unlimited multi-generation pedigrees, clean handling of outside animals, and printable papers that look right at a sale table are all being built for launch. The reason ours matter: pedigrees in BarnMark are working data. BarnSight reads them when it checks whether a fault follows a line, so the papers you keep for buyers also sharpen the calls you make for yourself.

BARNSIGHT

What is the difference between BarnMark and BarnSight?

BarnMark is the rabbitry management platform: pedigrees, breedings, litters, weights, health, shows, and sales, run as one phone-in-hand workflow. BarnSight is the decision-support layer built into its core. It reads the records BarnMark makes effortless to keep (your Pose evaluations, show and judge feedback, health signals, and Barn Tracks) and lays out what repeats, with the evidence. One does not exist without the other: the records give BarnSight its evidence, and BarnSight gives the records their reason.

Is BarnSight a black box?

No. BarnSight is arithmetic on your own records: it counts, compares, and cross-references the way you would with graph paper and a free weekend. Every finding shows the records it counted, the confidence, and the reasoning, and you're free to disagree. It also keeps score of its own findings against your real outcomes later, on the record. Nothing about your barn gets handed to some oracle, and nothing acts without you.

How will BarnSight findings work?

BarnSight is being designed to show each finding with its evidence, confidence, and reasoning. The product is still in development, and details about access to findings will be shared as BarnMark gets closer to beta.

RELEASE UPDATES

When can I try BarnMark?

BarnMark has not entered beta yet, and public access is not open. Join the Early Interest List and you will hear first as testing gets closer: beta invites go to that list before anywhere else.

What will BarnMark cost?

Pricing is not final while BarnMark is pre-beta. It will be announced to the Early Interest List before beta opens, so join the list and you will see it first.

Where can I follow the build?

The BarnMark Facebook page is where we post the work in progress: screens as they are built and notes from the barn. Release milestones also go to the Early Interest List by email.

How will early access be announced?

The Early Interest List hears the milestones first, and Facebook carries the day-to-day build. When BarnMark is ready for testers, those channels will hear before anyone else.

YOUR DATA

Can I get my records out?

Yes. Your records stay under your control, and that includes taking them out: your rabbitry history is being built to move with you, not to hold you hostage. The supported export formats and access details will be published before beta opens.

Who can see my records?

The people you choose for your rabbitry can see the records their role allows. Your for-sale page is the public exception, and it appears only when you choose to publish one. Your working records, Poses, Barn Tracks, and decisions stay private, so sharing stays under your control.
